Inés Estrada is originally from Mexico City, were she currently lives.
She creates graphic narratives through comics and drawings, exploring themes of nature, intimacy and dreams. Through her practice she seeks to observe and question the illusion of reality and its infinite layers.
She started making zines in 2006 and has self-published two book collections of her short comics: Ojitos Borrosos (2012) and Impatience (2016). She also authored two science-fiction graphic novels: Lapsos (C’est Bon Kultur, Sweden, 2014) and Alienation (Fantagraphics, USA, 2019). All of these s are currently sold out and out of print. Alienation: Final Cut a new, bigger and better edition of Alienation that features deleted material and new pages, was co-published in 2025 by Floating World Comics (USA), Ediciones Hungría & GATOSHOP (Mexico).
Other projects she has taken part in were: as a co-organizer of Zin Amigos (2012), the first festival in Mexico City focused on graphic and narrative zines; as the editor of Tebeo Tropical, the comics column of Vice Mexico (2010-2015); and also as the co-editor and designer of the only compilation on the graphics and history of Mexican zines, Fanzinología Mexicana 1985 - 2015, published by El Museo Universitario del Chopo in Mexico City. She currently works full time running the GATOSHOP (founded by her in 2013 originally as Gatosaurio), an online shop through which she produces her own designs, collaborates with other artists and distributes comics, stickers and other cool trinkets from Mexico and the world.

📌 FUN FACTS:
★ I think risograph printing is overrated. I prefer laser printers and photocopies! They’re cheaper
and I love how intense the black looks. Plus the ink does not migrate to your finger like with riso
★ I lived in Texas in 2015-18 and now I'm back in Mexico City. Some people are still confused...
★ I don’t have a cat (or any pet) even though I love animals very much. Maybe one day∼
★ Escribo en inglés porque es la lengua franca del internet y no es como que el español
no sea igual una lengua de colonizadores de mierda ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
